No one stands outside the circle
The Mandala of Practice: Peacemaking as Community
The Zen Peacemaker Order Formation is a 16-month training in contemplative study and engaged social action.
Grounded in the Three Tenets of Not-Knowing, Bearing Witness, and Taking Action, it helps practitioners bring their vows to life in the world as it is.
Zen Peacemakers have always practiced in a mandala — an ever-expanding circle where each being has a place.
In ZPO Formation, participants from many countries come together in this spirit — studying, reflecting, and creating projects that bring the teachings to life.
In March 2026, we open the doors to Cohort 4, a 16-month formation in contemplative study and engaged social action.
We will explore the Mandala Approach, the Rule of the Order, our History and Lineage, and even The Order of Disorder — a joyful reminder not to take ourselves too seriously.
Through mentorship, small groups, and shared council, we form a web of support and accountability.
“May we always have the courage to bear witness — to see ourselves as the other, and the other as ourselves.”
— Roshi Bernie Glassman
In March 2026, we open the doors to Cohort 4, a 16-month formation in contemplative study and engaged social action.
In ZPO Formation, these teachings unfold through study, peer circles, and council practice.
Together we learn to meet life with curiosity and courage, cultivating the capacity to act wisely in the face of suffering.
It’s not about fixing the world.
It’s about letting the world awaken us.
