Awakening at Home
Wednesday, June 18th, 12pm Eastern Time, ONLINE via Zoom
Most of us don’t live in monestaries. What does a dedicated spiritual practice look like for those of us who live our lives out in the world as it is today? Jacqueline Kramer’s new book, Awakening at Home, explores the junction of everyday life and deep practice. Jacqueline will talk about some of the challenges and benefits of everyday practice, read from her new book, and open the space for discussion.
"If you are looking for a book on how to live a spiritual life daily, look no longer. Jacqueline Kramer's Awakening At Home finds no mundane activity or task- from driving in traffic to cooking dinner to walking in the neighborhood- that is outside the path. We are not Buddhist monks or hermit sages, Kramer reminds us, but householders with jobs, families, and a world of attachments- and waking up is possible everywhere and at all times." - Roshi Eve Myonen Marko Founding Teacher, Zen Peacemaker Order Founding Teacher, Green River Zen Center
